Today, there are literally hundreds of varieties of bulbs that can be used for varying effects in a home, office, commercial or industrial spaces. LED spotlight bulbs have found their way into almost every area where light is required. Let’s take a look at the common types of LED that are used in homes.
Diffused bulbs- These bulbs are actually clusters of LEDs that are covered by a very dimpled lens. This lens spreads light over a much wider area. They are available in the standard Edison bases and have many uses, like area lighting for porches, rooms, accent lamps, reading lamps, hallways as well as low-light applications. This is where lights tend to remain switched-on for longer periods of time.
Dimmable Globe-LED bulbs- These are designed to be used in bathroom vanities or any place that need wide lighting. They produce light that is equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb, but consume only 10W of power. They are dimmable from 100%- 10% and have a 200 degree beam-angle that casts light in a very wide area.
Track Lighting- These are available in an Edison or a pin-base. LEDs are perfect for track-lighting as they do not contribute to any heat buildup in the room. This is because regardless of how long they are switched on, they do not get heated up at all. Another important fact is that they are 90% more efficient than standard incandescents, and last ten-times longer than conventional CFLs. You have to replace them less often.
Flood Reflector LED bulbs- These are used in track lights and recessed cans and have a screw-in base. Now, they are also available for other standard recessed-lighting housings and pots. They range from 7W-17W and have beam widths of PAR20-PAR38. Many of the models like the e14 7W are also dimmable. Since they are 90 percent more efficient than regular incandescents and also last ten times longer than CFL bulbs, the frequency of changing these bulbs is reduced.
Base LED bulbs- These are designed to replace the incandescent candelabra bulbs. Their flame-tip delivers an equivalent of 25 - 35 watts of incandescent light and draws just 3.5W of electricity. There is a heat sink in the base. This does not permit the light to disperse downwards as the standard incandescent candelabra bulb does.
Tube Lights- These are designed to replace traditional fluorescent tube bulbs and are available in 8 & 16 watts. They replace traditional 25W and 40W T8/T10/T12 fluorescent tubes. Since fluorescent lights are generally installed in high ceilings at commercial sites, the savings are even higher as they do not have to be changed so often.
LED spotlight bulb- This bulb can be used in spaces where focused and bright light is required. It is available in a dimmable version and you can use it as required. No matter where you use them and what function they serve, LED spotlight bulbs and e14 7w are a boon from every perspective. They throw cool and bright light and are energy savers.
