The Importance Of Picking The Best Facial Mask
Total Articles: 7959
Zeroing-in on an exfoliant can be confusing and time consuming. There are numerous exfoliating face masks that claim to have wondrous effects on your skin. Picking the best facial mask can also mean a drain on your pocket if you don’t know which one to pick! Buying the wrong facial mask can also damage and irritate your skin! There are different types of exfoliating masks. You can get the chemical-based ones while others have natural and organic ingredients. Even the latter will have a combination of ingredients that add to the beauty benefits of the main component of the product.
Some masks can also be used as scrubs. They can be applied on the face, left on for some time and then be used to gently exfoliate the facial skin. Chemical masks are very different in that they have a chemical base but not necessarily harsh. Some of them can actually help in maintaining the pH balance in your skin. Finding the best facial mask is a lot about trial and error. Find out what your skin type is. If you are not too sure about what your skin type is, consult a dermatologist. It may either be oily, dry or you might even have combination skin.
If that is the case, you can use a mix and match of two different masks. Some people tend to have oily skin on their foreheads, nose and chin. They can use a different mask on those segments of the face and apply another one on the rest of the face. A Dead Sea mud mask is excellent for oily skin. Sulphur-based clay masks can be used to clear acne. If you have dry skin, use a moisturizing exfoliating mask and use a moisturizer after you have cleaned that off. Whiteheads and blackheads can be removed with the use of a Beta Hydroxy Acid mask.
For those who have acne or pigmentation marks or even sun spots on their face, an alpha hydroxyl acid- based mask can be very useful. Fruit enzyme exfoliating masks are excellent for removing dead surface-skin cells. These are very gentle and are perfect for sensitive skin. You should also look for pH balanced masks. A mask that has a 3.5-4.5 pH level will not irritate the skin. Some masks also have tiny grains in them. These particles could be in the form of miniature beads and they help in exfoliating the skin gently as you scrub the mask off your face.
If you use a good mask, there is no need to use a toner. Though a lot of people feel they are excellent for the skin, many dermatologists feel that a good cleanser is more than enough o give you clean and clear skin. Moisturizing the skin is also very important. Regardless of what your skin type is, moisturizing helps in keeping the facial skin supple and smooth. Even those who have oily skin can benefit from using a moisturizer. Refrain from over-moisturizing your face. It will end up clogging your facial pores and can lead to acne.
