For beginners, Bet On Major League Baseball is providing a quick reference that briefly describes different forms of baseball betting:

Money Lines:

First and most popular form of baseball betting is money line betting. It is most simpler and easy type of betting in which the team that wins will win the entire game and bettors will get money. Sometimes it may happens that in some evenly-matched games, they may feature two teams with the same rank and you have to decide which team played the best and which team have lost the match. This is how money lines work.

Run Lines:

Second most popular baseball betting is run line betting. In this type of betting, different bettors are set up with a maximum of +1.5 points and minimum of -1.5 points. When compared to money line betting, run line betting requires betting on only these two points, but it is required that the difference between the two teams must be of 2 points.

Over/Unders:

In this type of betting, the betting is done on total scores that can be scored by each team that will go above/over the total score or below/under the set total score. This determines that betting is done on the total set score for each team. Just bettors should bet that whether team is going to score over the set target or under the set target.

Parlays:

In parlay betting, two or more baseball sides are selected for betting and all these parlays must win to pay off the betting. In this events are made to be chosen, and as more events are chosen the more parlays pays if it’s a successful event. Well-liked parlays strategies consists of money-line and semi-correlated parlays in which money-line parlays select multiple favorites that allow bettor a payoff rather than betting favorite one alone and semi-correlated parlays include betting on money line as well as over/under betting type strategies.
