The petticoat known as pavada in South and shaya in Eastern India along with a blouse or choli which can be short or long is worn. This is completed with a dupatta which could be in contrast and is worn across the blouse in the form of a saree and tucked into the petticoat. A shade of navy blue or electric blue would look graceful in such outfits. The choli is further adorned with mirror work or embroidery to enhance the look of the saree.
Dupatta on the bride’s head
It is a custom for the bride in many states to wear a dupatta on the head during marital nuptials. Then she could opt for a pretty and bright hue of blue; giving the bride an unconventional look!
