If you create videos then you must have a YouTube Video Channel where you can upload your videos. It’s really quite easy to set up a channel and best of all your customers that discover all your videos in this location. First, you should create a YouTube account and you can use your Google account for this. After you have logged in, click on ‘My Channel’. If you want to use your business name for the channel then click ‘To use a business or other name, click here’ and type in the name of your YouTube channel.

It’s true that one-time videos or commercials can be huge on YouTube and get millions or even hundreds of millions of hits. But if the video is just a spectacle, this won’t necessarily net you customers or promote your brand. What you have to do is create an on-going series of videos on sites like YouTube, Vimeo, or others to give the public a sense of what your brand is all about. You need something for them to associate with the brand. Plus, by creating a series, you’ll get people to look forward to the next one every time. This gives you time to get the word out.

That’s not to say tha t either self hosting or hosting with YouTube is “better for SEO," but rather that Google has much more to gain from ranking their own platform in the SERPs, rather than ranking a user's own website. However, that doesn't mean YouTube is inherently "preferred" in the search results and self-hosted videos can rank just as well as YouTube videos, provident that they're embedded on a fairly strong page and a video sitemap is submitted. Video content is an under-utilized marketing resource for small businesses, because many people don’t understand how producing and sharing short videos could be beneficial, or they don’t know how to get started. Having video content can sometimes cause search engines to rank your site higher, so video marketing can contribute to your SEO efforts. Having different types of content on different marketing channels helps people find you easier, and spreads the word about your business. Adding video marketing to your marketing campaign is a cheap and easy way to produce content and reach more potential buyers.

If getting in front of the camera doesn’t phase you, take it as an opportunity to represent your brand. Dress as you would to meet a client. Film in a well lit space, and make sure you’re close enough to the camera for strong audio. It’s not only helpful, but necessary, to have a goal for your video in mind before you film it. After your video goes live on YouTube, it can be easily shared through all your social media sites, and will help form your video marketing content. They will add something new and interesting to your company’s content and you’ll be free to get creative. Since YouTube videos can inform your customers on the products and services you provide, along with any new developments about your company, videos are a good way to quickly inform your customers by providing them with helpful tips. You can also include links back to your company’s website to increase your traffic, and hopefully your business.
