How Boxing Bag Gloves Offer Protection To Your Hands

By Expert Author: Johnson Wright

The most prominent part of any boxing workout is the selection of right pair of gloves. These gloves do not just offer protection to your hands, but also offer the optimum resistance to your arms. When you throw a punch, these bags enhance your muscles strength. Gloves are not limited for boxing enthusiasts only. Many individuals are involved in the boxing sport for working out to relief stress. When you do training with the bag gloves, a lot of precaution should be taken for hands and knuckles. This is the reason why you need a perfect pair of gloves to avoid injuries as much as possible. The gloves are generally insulated to reduce the possibilities of risks to your knuckles, wrists and hands while hitting a heavy bag.

For getting the right pair of gloves for yourself, you should consider the following things that can affect the size of the pair you will purchase:

Your Size: The larger will be the size of the boxer, heavier will be the gloves required for maximum protection. The reason is that the punches tend to have some extra force behind them. If you are having smaller size, the gloves of approximately 12oz-14oz will do. Choosing heavier gloves might result into negative impact on your performance as they will add some extra and unnecessary resistance to your arms after throwing ample of punches. But this factor alone cannot become a deciding factor for your purchase.

Gloves Use: It is also a valid point to consider. The size of the bag gloves will change if you are looking to use the same pair for sparring as well. The size of the sparring gloves is generally varies between 8-10oz. This is why you must take into account whether you want to use gloves for spar or not. Heavy gloves can reduce your speed and add too much pressure on your arms. The normal size of gloves should be 12 oz so as to get increased effectiveness in the training.

Goals of Workout: The last but not the least thing that you should consider is what you actually want to accomplish from your workout? For instance, if you want to gain the punch strength, you should get gloves weighing 16oz or more. For burning your body fat, you will need gloves of lower size varying between 12oz to14 oz, so that you do not have to use the complete strength of your arm muscles before the process of fat burning begins. For toning up also, a pair of gloves with size of 12-14oz can be used as you will not require a large amount of protection. This is because you do not need to focus on hitting the bag too hard.

Taking up all above points into consideration, you can either purchase your bag gloves from online or on-site store, whichever is your preference.
