What Is Toyota Safety Connect?
Total Articles: 5
Toyota Safety Connect is a tool that can be found as an option in most Toyota vehicles. It is a feature that offers a wide variety of features including roadside assistance, collision alert and even a stolen vehicle notification. The feature runs off of the vehicles GPS and allows for emergency personnel to find the vehicle or you in the event of an emergency. New Toyotas that are equipped with Toyota Safety Connect also come with the first year subscription free of charge and will cost about $140 per year after the trial period ends.
Whenever the airbags deploy or there is a hard, rear end collision, a signal is sent to authorities notifying them of the type of accident that has occurred so help can get to you fast, even if you can’t call them yourself. Before the signal is sent, an operator will attempt to make contact with occupants of the vehicle to help determine if there are any injuries and the extent of any injuries so the response will be appropriate for your circumstances.
If you have an emergency on the road but you have not been in a collision, you can still call for help quickly. The SOS button will help you to notify emergency personnel of any emergency from a health emergency to a fire or even an accident that you have witnessed. It is like having instant access to 911, even if you don’t have a phone. With Toyota Safety Connect, help is just a button push away.
Stolen Car Locator
It can happen to anyone, anywhere; you go outside to get your vehicle and it is no longer where you parked it. You panic and try to find it but you can’t, you call the authorities and they attempt to locate it but everybody knows that it can be just about anywhere. The good news is that if you have a Toyota vehicle that is equipped with Toyota Safety Connect, the authorities will be able to ping your GPS, locating your stolen vehicle faster than ever and more likely with minimal damage as well. This feature alone dramatically drops the time it takes to locate the stolen vehicle, getting you back in your Toyota and back on the road in no time.
Everybody has run out of gas or had a break down while on the road. With Toyota Safety Connect, you can rest assured that when you need to be rescued, Toyota will be there to help. With Roadside assistance, you simply push the SOS button when you need a flat repair, battery started or a gallon of gas and help will be there before you know it. Anything can happen on the road but with Safety Connect, you can be ready for just about anything.
Toyota Safety Connect can be found in most Toyota vehicles manufactured after 2009. While it is a standard feature in all Prius models after 2010, it is an optional feature on most other Toyota models.
