Want to get started with Kindle publishing? There are just so many different things to learn, keep in mind and keep track of that it can be overwhelming simply to get started.
Here are some tips to help you get started the right way.
>> 1. Pace Yourself: Slow and Steady Wins the Race
It's going to take time getting the word out about your book to bloggers, readers, and everyone else who could possibly help spread the word regarding your new masterpiece. So don't get too down on yourself just because you're not a best-selling author within a week (or even a few months) of your finished product hitting the market.
>> 2. Be Mindful of Your Kindle Book Title
With more than 10 million books currently listed on Amazon right now alone, it's up to you to not only have your book stand out, but also be appealing to prospective readers. This can be accomplished via a catchy title, an excellently designed cover, and via the books actual content proving to be either useful or intriguing to potential readers.
Brainstorm a number of title variations, and see which ones are most evocative. Often, you'll find ...
... one that is the perfect fit for your message.
>> 3. Become as Well-Acquainted as Possible with GoodReads.com
If you were at all a reader before now, then there's no doubt that you already know about the excellent resource - for both authors and readers - that is GoodReads.com. If you're not already aware, then head on over there and see what the resource is all about. GoodReads makes it easy to connect with a large group of active readers.
>> 4. Genre/Niche Research is almost as important as the Book's Content Itself
Positioning your book in the right category can make it easier to drive sales. Popular categories are good, but it's also possible to be unnoticed if you are publishing in an over-saturated niche. How is your book different from similar titles?
>> 5. Being Passionate about What You're Writing About
This particular tip is more easily accomplished if you're simply passionate about writing in general, but if you can manage it, try and write or publish a Kindle book about something that you're particular passionate about or (at the very least) highly interested in.
Being extremely passionate or very interested in the topic at hand will really ring true in your book, and will not only make it more enjoyable to read, but will also spike your reputation as a respected authority author on the subject.
