Five Signs That You May Have Started To Fall Out Of Love With Your Spouse
Total Articles: 3
There are some five things which may indicate that you have started to fall out of love with your spouse. We will be discussing those five things, and how to detect them (as they tend to be quite highly nuanced). There is one fact we need to mention at this early stage: that starting to fall out of love with your spouse doesn’t have to be the cause of your relationship’s breakup. These five signs should serve as warning signs that you need to work harder at your relationship. They shouldn’t serve as warning signs that you should ship out: because even if you do get another partner out there, chances are that, at some point, you are still likely to find yourself falling out of love with him or her.
The five signs that you may have started to fall out of love with your spouse include:
1. Frequent urges to quarrel him or her: what tends to be hidden underneath this frequent urge to quarrel your spouse is a subconscious urge to get out of the relationship on your part. Evidence for this assertion is in the fact that the things you are likely to be feeling the urge to quarrel your partner about are likely to be things that you’d have let pass, in better days.
2. Lack of interest in spending time together: people who are in love tend to have one major desire, namely, the desire to spend time together. But if you are finding the idea of spending time with your spouse dreadful, if you are just tolerating spending time with your partner, then that may be an indication that you are falling out of love with him or her.
3. General resentment: if you are feeling a general sense of resentment against your spouse (and for no apparent reason), chances are that you may have started falling out of love. We all know that people who are in love (especially those who are newly in love with each other) don’t normally experience feelings of resentment against each other.
4. Noticing petty failings in him or her: this becomes particularly alarming when (as is often the case) the petty failings turn out to be things you previously overlooked. It becomes particularly tricky when the little things that attracted you to your spouse become the things that now make you mad about him or her.
5. The desire to upset him or her: this is where you continually feel the need to deliberately do things that you know your partner dislikes, just to upset him or her. Chances are, you will recall that when you were deeply in love, you’d have done anything to avoid upsetting your partner. Now if you find the converse happening, where you feel the urge to upset him or her (even if you don’t actually act on that urge), then that could be a sign of falling out of love.
