The basic function of crane is to uphold the heavy load and transfer it from one place to another. Usually industries such as mining, construction and shipyards make use of cranes. Cranes play a vital role in building projects but before operating it the operator should be well known about its functions and usage. Cranes can only be operated by proficient, skilled and experienced workers. One should also be aware about its safety precautions in order to avoid any hazardous deed. There are certain guidelines and rules that should be followed when executing the crane. Crane accidents usually cause due to equipment malfunction or operator error. Therefore when crane operator is on field one should not distract him in any of the way. In other cases such as when any part of the crane turns out fault at that time accidents usually occurs. So it is better to check the parts and equipments of the crane earlier before operating it. Even one must follow the crane safety guidelines and indications so that unusual happening can be avoided. Moreover the people who acquires NCCCO certificate are only allowed to operate the crane as working with it needs lot of alertness and concentration. Also crane operation requires talented and efficient operators who know well about its working system and safety conditions.
There are several parts in crane such as load limiter, load switches and load cell. Similarly rotary limit switches is one such part of crane that is used widely by the crane operators. This equipment helps in controlling the movement of machines. This auxiliary controller operates well in electric motors through a strong interface. This powerful interface is even known as PLC or contractor. Also this rotary limit switch is linked with a motor which thereafter start the revolution. These revolution ratios vary from 1:10 to 1:150. They even use varied combinations of gear wheels between the output and input shafts that are connected with the cams. These cams later on operate the switches.
