Examining The Two Major Types Of Art Deco Lighting Accessories Available In The Market
Total Articles: 7959
There are two major types of art deco lighting accessories in the market. We will be exploring the two, with a view to firstly understand what the fundamental difference between them is. We will also be seeking to understand what the pros and cons to each type of lighting accessories are. We will be going a step further, to examine the specific situations when it would be advisable for any given person to buy each of these types of lighting accessories.
The first type of art deco lighting accessories in the market is that of those that are hand-made. These are typically costly, against a background where, in general terms, everything that is ‘handmade’ tends to be costlier. They are viewed as being lighting accessories of a higher quality. That is the main thing that justifies the higher price at which they are sold. Besides that though, there is the issue of production cost: whereby the production cost associated with these handmade accessories tend to be higher than those associated with the other variety of lighting accessories that we will be looking at. So the main advantage associated with these particular accessories is in the fact that they are classy (and they have the appearance of ‘quality’). But, as we have just noted, they are quite expensive, and that is the downside to them. These are the ideal lighting accessories to buy if you are looking for quality, and have the means to pay for it.
The second type of art deco lighting accessories in the market is that of those that are mass produced. These tend to be cheaper, and that is their main advantage. Their low price is attributable to the low production costs incurred in their manufacture. On the downside, these mass produced accessories are not as classy as those that are handmade. Some of them look alright, so the difference is just a matter of perception: where, generally speaking, handmade items will always be regarded as being somehow superior to mass produced items. The mass produced lighting accessories are the ones to opt for if your budget is tight.
It is important to take note of the fact that not all stores dealing with lighting accessories stock both types (that is, both those that are hand made and those that are mass produced). There are, for instance, some high end stores that only stock hand made art deco lighting accessories. On the other hand, we have some low end stores that only stock the mass produced accessories. The main consideration for store operators when making the decision on the type of accessories to stock is usually that of the targeted market. That is where we find some stores that target low budget buyers, who are unlikely to afford the typically costlier handmade lighting accessories. Needless to say, it doesn’t make sense for such stores to stock the said handmade lighting accessories. So they decide to only stock the typically cheaper mass produced lighting accessories. Conversely, we have stores that mainly target the big budget buyers, who are likely to find the mass produced accessories unappealing, perhaps even off-putting. The people behind such stores are inclined to stock the handmade art deco lighting accessories exclusively.
