Getting Out Of Your Health Club Membership
Over the past decade health club membership has soared. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of club members are taking full advantage of their facilities equipment, services and resources. If you really want to get in shape fast, have fun and stay motivated, these tips are a must.
How do you hit a target you can't see? Most people have a vague idea of what they want to accomplish in the gym but not one in one hundred has specific written goals along with a detailed plan for accomplishing them. Have you ever seen the guy or girl in the gym that shows up consistently for months on end and never seems to get results? That is what happens when you don't have a plan, you pour months of effort down the drain.
So, where do you start? Begin with what is most pressing for you. This could be a certain physical accomplishment goal like bench pressing a certain weight or walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes at level 3 without stopping. Make the goal specific and achievable so you can gain momentum and see quick results.

The third type of fitness goal is the body sculpting goal. This could be losing a certain amount of weight, gaining muscle or bringing out that washboard abs. When you are working toward these types of goals it is important to focus on progress not perfection. Remember that a pound of fat is less dense than a pound of muscle. Many people who are working on a weight loss goal will be discouraged when they step on the scale and see that they haven't lost any weight. When they try on their clothes however, they realize that they fit more loosely. This is a great sign and shows that fat is being replaced by muscle.
