If you are looking for a coat or jacket that will last you a number of years, leather jackets will outlive all other materials. Leather is known for its durability, versatility and availability in a variety of textures and finishes. Being heavy and long lasting in nature, leather becomes the material of choice for work jackets, briefcases and belts. Latest technology in tanning and finishing has enabled production of lightweight version of leather that can be worn throughout the year. Leather wears are easy to care for, are water and dirt resistant and present a perfect match for any lifestyle.

You will easily get different materials depending on the animal, but for a soft smooth and luxurious feel the lamb will produce the ultimate leather indulgence. Its favorite among world top designers because of the butterfly texture that gives it a sophisticated appeal, wool jackets, sportswear and accessories are some of its products. Leather can be transformed easily into modern trendy looks, it can have innovative surfaces such as subtle sheen and matte finishes with various beautiful colors. Suede refers to the underside of leather; it is buffed to produce a velvety texture. The natural highs and lows create a beautiful hue while its light weight structure allows it to drape nicely for a perfect women leather coat with a handbag to match.

You can wear your leather jacket in the rain; however for utility jackets the leather may be sensitive. The larger majority of jackets, coats, hat, bags and shoes are not damaged by a little water. You can simply wipe your entire article with a dump cloth if it dries up with water spots. In cases of leather with spills and marks, holding your attire above a sink and flooding it with water will remove the contaminant. Oil based spills like those from butter and olive oil may be absorbed by the material if you fail to wipe or flush it quickly. You need to be careful with your leather coats when around ballpoints and sharpies because the ink is oil solvent and upon spillage and staying for sometimes it may prove hard to remove. Immediate rinsing or rubbing the skin may help to remove the ink before it’s absorbed.

If you are to wear a name tag or badge never put sticky tape on your leather coats because the adhesive may remove the finish on your garment and damage it. You should always put your name badge on a regular cloth garment. You should try as much as possible to avoid tears on your leather jackets. If tear occurs it should be handled by a professional leather repair specialist or a tailor who is well versed in leather repairs.

You should store your leather coats in a cool dry closet. If you want to cover the attire use a breathable material that will allow free circulation of air, moisture will encourage mold growth while excessive dryness will cause tears. All leathers, work jackets included require regular cleaning. However you should avoid use of detergents or dish soaps that may dry out or damage your garment.
