The first thing to understand is that visitors to your site will want to read articles which they feel are specifically targeted towards their needs so thinking only about SEO techniques is not the only aspect to consider. If your blog appeals and they can see that your service can answer their problem or need, you may already have opened up a line of communication with a prospective new customer, without any direct or deliberate SEO being employed.
Now add on to this and gain even more by strategically inserting your strongest keywords throughout the copy in a manner that will please the search engines; you will rank higher for searchers to find you more easily. So the effect is now double fold.
To do this effectively it is vitally important that your blogs are written with high quality English and excellent grammar and proofread your copy 2 or 3 times over to avoid typos. Professional web copywriters will proofread several times over and often read their copy aloud to check for mistakes.
Style is also fundamental to good SEO blog writing. To write in an engaging manner doesn't mean writing in a sloppy, overly ...
... casual style. Your words need to be engaging and inviting so that the reader feels compelled to contact you and ask for more detail or information.
Avoid sounding too forced and desperate and one way to avoid this is by not cramming in every single detail you can think of.
using the first person tense usually works best but you can use third person too for an equally engaging style and both can work well, providing the copy sounds friendly, personable and professional.
Whilst humour is always good to make us smile or laugh, do not write anything silly or full of cliches, awful puns or anything that will jut make people groan. Another thing to absolutely not do is to insert in-house jokes or jargon type jokes that only a certain group of people will recognise or understand. At worse, you could offend some people and lose more than you gain. Instead, just keep to a simple but professional tone of voice that will have universal appeal. There is no need to be still or formal in tone but polite and courteous is a key element, respecting all views.
Most copywriters who are regularly writing for web is to adopt a 'less is more' approach; this is good to understand because information overload is a fault many blog writers fall prey to in the early days and it is often a waste and off-putting. There is only so much information most people will be able to absorb at any given time before giving up. It is better for people to absorb a little information which they will remember than read a lot and digest nothing.
The opening paragraph is vital to catch the reader's attention. Keep this concise and focused with cohesion or you risk people giving up very early on if they think there is going to be nothing much more of substance to take in.
Instead begin with a creative, eye catching opening, and follow with a nice chunky middle and neat, tailored conclusion. In this way, you are, in effect, creating a story style which always appeals and keeps reader interest alive. The main aim is to keep readers reading.
To use SEO copywriting effectively, you will need to insert keywords strategically into your copy. Do not stuff these in or force as this will be detriment to your appeal by both the search engines and the readers and will look obvious.
Blog writing for business is a highly interactive marketing tool when done correctly; you can constantly feed your readers fresh snippets of information on what you offer or can do for them, implying your expert knowledge - and keeping the search engines happy. This is what SEO is all about.
In a market flooded with advertising material of all descriptions, a well written online blog with correct keyword insertion and excellent English. as well as giving good information can work wonders. You can generate attention from a well targeted audience, boosting your company image, service and sales.
Write your blogs regularly in order to keep up the flow and keep to no less than about 400 or 450 words for optimum effect.
