It may be difficult at times to explain to other people what it is that you exactly do for a living. Most people are still unaware of just how big the scenario has gotten and how people are working right from the safety and comfort of their own homes and making money. Writers love doing what they do and it cannot be compared with any other industry, which is why most people have a hard time understanding how this all works out.
There are many myths about content writing, with the following being some of the most commonly heard -
There Is no Money in Content Writing
Some consider this as a part-time job, while others assume it to be a way to supplement a fixed income. While nothing may be 'fixed' in a freelancer's world, content writing is definitely one of the biggest fields now, when it comes to being your own boss.
There are numerous examples of how some people started off as just plain and simple writers and are now heading their own agencies. The best part about content writing is that you control how much you want to earn by putting as much effort as possible and no one dictating what you should ...
... be doing.
Content Writing is Easy
If content writing was so easy, then there would not have been any unemployed person in the world. Like any other type of work, writing is also a specialized field that not everyone can enter. It is not only about how strong your skills in English or any other language are, it is the ability to successfully express yourself to the reader that counts.
The field of content writing is vast and it has a number of branches that grow outwards from its core. Not all writing that goes on in this circle is the same, but there are usually writers who keep themselves specific to specialized fields, like law, business, finance, academic, blogging and such. Not everyone is perfect at everything, just like anywhere else.
Content Writing is Part Time Work
While this may be true to some extent, it all depends on how much effort you are willing to put into it at the end of the day. While working on your own terms, you are able to decide how much time you will put into this work, if something is already capturing most of your focus and attention.
The art of creating content is definitely not for everyone, which is why making assumptions without giving it a try first is a dire mistake many make. You never know, it just may turn out to be something you are willing to give everything up for!
