The consumption of power can be reduced by using the electrical appliances in a wise manner and by replacing the old ones with new devices immediately. This is because the older devices will be working hard and they consume more power as a result of this. There are some manufacturers dealing with quality appliance for your home and you can sell your old refrigerator or water heater or similar devices and can get new ones at an affordable cost. Of course, air conditioner units when become old will acquire more energy and so it is better to keep this device safe from any sort of repairs.
It would be wise to switch off some gadgets like washing machine, when they are not in use.
