One thing that most business owners and managers dislike most is having to move to another location. Even if the end result is a big improvement, the actual move is something to be dreaded as work has to stop completely for days on end while everything is packed and moved, then unpacked and set up again. However, it does not have to be this way if you hire the right office movers.

Traditional home movers that are used to moving homeowners from place to place are not really suited to the task of moving a company into new premises. Why? Because they expect to do it the exact same way as they would move the contents of a home. They would expect all the smaller items to be packed into boxes. However, the office is not the same as a home.

Often when furniture is being taken out of or put into a home, doorjambs, floors and carpeting, and walls are damaged due to bumps and dirty boots as the removalists struggle to lift and move the heavy furniture. In an office there is usually not such large or heavy furniture, or at least, much less of it.

With office relocation there is a great deal of sensitive electronic ...
... equipment that must be handled with great care if it is to arrive at its destination unscathed. There are filing cabinets that are full of documents that may contain sensitive information. Workstations must be dismantled and their contents packed carefully – usually right at the last minute to save downtime.

Office removals are not easy, but with specially trained professionals on the job, downtime and damage can both be kept to a minimum. Workstations and everything that is on them should be labeled with stickers to make it easy to see at a glance which computers belong on which desk. If possible, filing cabinets should be moved with their contents still inside to save the work and time of packing and unpacking their contents.

Plugs and cords should also be kept in place where possible and labeled so that anyone can put them all back together into the right inlets. And if a moving manager is designated, they will be able to go into the new office building and decide before moving day where each item needs to be placed. Once that is done the impact of moving can be minimized and everyone can get back to work in next to no time.
