To make the most of organic traffic, entrepreneurs should take advantage of article marketing. This popular marketing technique allows search engines to pick up, or index, your content. This content then leads right back to your business. While optimized websites and social media campaigns are helpful, article marketing provides long term results and more opportunities for new customers.
Article Marketing Explained:
Before you can use article marketing for marketing your business, you need to understand what the process involves. There are three different approaches to article marketing. Some entrepreneurs use a combination of the three. All three involve writing relevant articles to your business. The purpose is to provide content which is valuable to the reader, yet still have it relate to your business in some way. For instance, a web designer may write content about finding the best web host for the sights he/she designs. Or perhaps he/she will write content on how to optimize their site once it's built.
The three approaches to this marketing technique include website content, blogging and submitting to article directories. Many websites offer regular content describing their services along with helpful tutorials and the latest news. Content is changed on a regular basis or new pages are added to the site. In many ways, this approach is limited as it quickly becomes unmanageable. The better alternative is blogging. Regular posts allow you to offer content as often as you wish in an easy to manage format. Categorizing content allows readers to find what they want once they discover your blog.
The final method involves submitting to article directories. The purpose is to introduce your business to a new audience. While they may not immediately discover your site, they are more likely to discover the articles you submit. It's very important that these articles contain one to two links back to pages on your website or blog. Ensure the directories you use are reputable, meaning they have strict criteria for submitting content. Better directories equal better ranking in search engine results.
3 Keys to Marketing Your Articles
Article marketing boils down to three things: keywords, content and backlinks. Search engines discover your articles based on the keywords you use. Carefully consider and research what terms visitors may use to find your topic. Incorporate the main three to five words or phrases used into your article. Ensure you use at least one of them in your article title. Next, focus on creating high quality, grammatically correct content. Content should be at least 300 words and be relevant to your business. Some directories require at least 500 words for an article to be submitted, so be sure to match the number of words to the individual submission requirements. Finally, article marketing allows you to build backlinks, which are links leading back to your site. These links can also be used within your own site or blog. Use no more than one link per 100 words. Each link should be attached to a keyword or descriptive phrase of no more than three words.
