Man Boobs In Weightlifters

Truth be told- no man wants to have to wear a bra. And yet quite a few have to deal with the embarrassment of a not so manly chest. This problem may even be present in some who actively go to the gym and do a lot of chest exercises. This problem occurs in men when the body deposits fatty tissue in the pectoral area. Sadly it is not possible to lose man boobs by simply doing a lot of chest exercises. The pectoral muscles are strengthened, but fat tissue still covers the chest area. We thus have to lower the body's overall fat percentage to have any noticeable effects. Here are a few helpful pointers.

A less than stellar looking chest area in a man, is frequently as a result of many years of unhealthy eating habits. It is thus a good idea to reduce caloric intake while eating a balanced diet. This includes eating more lean protein like chicken, fish, and plant protein, as well as partaking of more fruits and vegetables. Carbohydrates like breads and pasta are okay if eaten in moderation. Cutting down on the empty calories to be found in junk food, alcohol and soda pop helps.

Do work out at a gym regularly if you aren't already doing so. Contrary to popular opinion both aerobic exercises and strength training play a major role in weight loss. Working out the chest muscles for example help to strengthen the pectoral area and shape them up nicely by making the muscles bigger. Bigger muscles in turn burn more calories meaning you will lose more fat. It also has been shown that people who work out tend to be more health conscious and stick to a balanced diet. Most experts would recommend going to the gym for workouts at least four times a week, although some motivated individuals have been known to work out up to six times a week. Care most be taken to avoid overdoing it, and risking exhaustion or injury.

Posture also plays a key role in the appearance of man boobs. With bad posture the shoulders are slouched and the chest muscles grow tighter, and this in turn makes the bad situation look worse than it really is. It is similar to how sitting all the time weakens the core muscles and causes the hip muscles to tighten, thus making your gut to look bigger than it really is. Instead train yourself to stand or sit with good posture by keeping your shoulders back instead of letting them slouch forward. Some exercises like squats strengthen the back muscles and train the body to maintain a good posture.

Sadly some men have to deal with gynecomastia which causes the body to deposit fat tissue in the chest area as a result of abnormally high estrogen levels coupled with low testosterone. In this case hormonal therapy is a good way to control the issue. For most men however, man boobs may be eliminated by a good diet, a good exercise regimen, and good posture.
