Justifying The Higher Cost Associated With Automatic Airsoft Guns
Total Articles: 7959
Generally, automatic airsoft guns cost slightly more than the non-automatic airsoft guns. That trend holds, whether we are looking at airsoft rifles or airsoft pistols. The question that we have to deal with though, is as to what actually justifies the higher cost associated with the automatic airsoft guns. The automatic guns in question here include those that are able to fire shot after shot, without having to be cocked. They are quite different from the non-automatic guns – like, for instance, the spring-powered airsoft guns – that have to be manually powered, through the cocking process, before they can be fired. Already, from that definition, a key reason as to why the automatic guns are costlier should have emerged. But we will elucidate it later on.
What we need to take note of, at this early point, is the fact that most of the automatic guns in question here are in the category of airsoft pistols. Put in other words, the percentage of airsoft pistols that are automatic is higher than the percentage of airsoft rifles that are automatic. That, of course, is not to say that all airsoft pistols are automatic, and that all airsoft rifles are non automatic. It is possible to get some non-automatic airsoft pistols, just as it is possible to get many types of automatic airsoft rifles nowadays. But we are talking about the general trends.
Now the first justification for the higher cost associated with automatic airsoft guns is in their cost of manufacture. Few people will raise any arguments against the assertion that it costs more to manufacture an automatic airsoft gun, compared to what it costs to manufacture a non-automatic airsoft gun. Put in other words, in order to make the automatic firing mechanism possible, more components have to be included in the guns. Those components cost money, and the cost is ultimately borne by the people who show interest in buying the guns. It may also be added that it generally takes more expertise to come up with an automatic airsoft gun, compared to what it takes to come up with a non-automatic airsoft gun. Further, it takes more manufacturing time, to come up with an automatic airsoft gun, compared to what it takes to manufacture a non-automatic airsoft gun. In summary, the manufacturing costs for the automatic airsoft gun are substantially higher than the manufacturing costs for the non-automatic airsoft gun.
