Chinese As A Second Language

Chinese (中国語 ) is the most spoken language of the world. It is estimated that over billion people living in China and the other parts of the world are speaking Chinese. Chinese has become a popular choice among student as second language. The growing appeal of Chinese culture in the west and worldwide is increasing its popularity. Many American schools have started Chinese as an optional subject along Spanish and French. Learning Chinese (中国語 ) is beneficial for you to improve your learning, career potential and business.
China has made a huge advancement in in its educational system and policies by making the educational policy of universal education for all regardless any bias of class and income level. Chinese (中国語 ) educational policies strictly stress on having the same education for all. The communist party stressed education of science and technology while the cultural revolution put stress on teaching practical and accessible skills, including basic medical training especially those who are living in rural and poor areas. These are the reasons that today China is ahead in science and technology and also introduced a new type of medical job to nurses or paramedic to fill in doctor and administer medical aid in backward areas by teaching basic medical skills to people who did not possess any medical license or qualification. These advancements attracted the world to learn Chinese and even in some cases to get education in China.
China also made an effort to improve the standing of its language for the people who are learning Chinese. The HSK(HanyuShuipingKaoshi) is a standardized test of Mandarin (マンダリン) Chinese. This new test was launched by Hanban with the purpose of better serving Chinese language learners. The HSK is a result of coordinated efforts by domestic and foreign experts from different disciplines including Chinese language teaching, linguistic, psychology, and educational measurement. The new HSK international exam not only tests the proficiency of Chinese language but also assesses the ability of non-native Chinese speakers to use the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives. An HSK certificate is valid without any limitation in China and aims to be a certificate of language proficiency for higher education and professional purpose. Each year HSK certificates are issued to those who meet required score and the candidates with high score can also get scholarship for short term language study in China.
The Chinese value education as a stepping stone to success. The Pinyin (ピンイン) writing system was introduced and published by Chinese Government and revised several times. It is a new system of Romanization. Pinyin (ピンイン) is very important for those who want to learn Chinese. Chinese language is not a phonetic language as Chinese pronunciation is not related to its characters. Pinyin (ピンイン) is created to transcribe Chinese characters so that people may learn pronunciation easily. Pinyin writing is similar to English alphabets. Chinese is atonal language. There are five possible tones in Pinyin and they are soprano tone, inquiring tone, sarcastic tone, emphatic tone and quiet tone. Each tone has a different meaning in Chinese. To learn a second language for learning purpose not only beneficial for your studies but it also enhances your self-esteem.
