When you travel to Central Asia there are some things you need to be aware of. The main thing to remember is that you are not in the west. We discovered on our 5 Stans tour that the travelling conditions are quite different in this part of the world. The standards of travel are different from what we are used to. It calls for a different mindset and you need to be more open minded as you go on your tour to Central Asia. Well, we had been dying to go on this trip and when the opportunity came about we donned our Indiana Jones mindset and decided to have a fun adventure regardless of any challenges that may come up.

Central Asia travel can be very demanding as each day is full of sights to see and there is much travel involved both by air and road. If you are a nitpicker you will turn your vacation into a miserable experience but if you are open to whatever, you will have the time of your life. Depending on when you choose to go on your vacation you can find that the temperatures are either very high or low. If you travel 5 Stans in June – August the temperatures can be very hot.

The 5 Stans tour package arranged by the travel company was great and took us to Uzbekistan as well. We found that when it comes to this country, you have to make sure that all your travel documents are in order. This is especially important to know because you cannot even book a hotel in Uzbekistan without the right documentation in place. It is advisable that anyone planning travel to Central Asia ensure that they have the right documentation for each and every country that they will be visiting. If you do not get this sorted out from the get go, you may find that things turn complicated pretty fast.

Another tip that I would give to all those who would like to visit this part of the world is to make sure that the 5 Stans tour package they select takes them to the most important places in the region. We were quite pleased with the package we got because it took us to some of the most well known places in central Asia including a UNESCO world heritage site. We also stopped at the city of Bukhara which has been known for centuries for its trade domes. These have been in existence since the 16th century. We also visited Registan Square located in Registan – a must visit location.

If you are planning a tour to Central Asia one of the best things you can do for yourself is to leave the travel plans and itinerary to the pros. When we made our plans we found that because we did not know the area it was easier to have someone well versed with the region to do the planning on our behalf. We were so glad we did! The package we got was fantastic. The hotels were comfortable and clean and there was someone to meet us at the airport when we arrived. We did not have to worry about getting from one place to the other as that was already taken care of.
