I like the concept behind article marketing. You create content, you submit them to the article directories, you put them on your site, your blog, and can even have them syndicated. No matter how you choose to promote your content, article marketing is something that you will definitely want to study up on.
Now in today's present time, traditional article marketing hasn't been as effective as it used to be. Due to the Panda update from Google that targeted low quality web pages, some people's efforts have taken a hit, and their profits have gone in the tank also. But there are other means to get lots of traffic from your articles. You just haven't discovered them yet.
People who used to use article marketing as the cornerstone of their business still use it today to take their online business to the next level. These people never give up, and they keep the faith that one day, article marketing will restore itself to the powerful marketing strategy that it used to be.
One thing that you should know if you want to have success with article marketing is that you need a lot of content to get noticed pretty quickly. Article marketing is a form of free marketing that hasn't yet surpassed the technique of paid advertising. Paid advertising is fast and can get you results within hours if you spend enough money on it.
But article marketing and other forms of free advertising take a lot longer to equal the results that you would get from paid marketing. One good thing about article marketing is that you have so many places that you can promote your content on. There are article directories, placing them on your site, article syndication, guest blogging, and more. The potential is enormous - but only if you're willing to put the work in.
The truth of the matter is that you can't just write 1 to 2 articles per week to see the kind of traffic from your article writing that you are looking for. It takes thousands of articles to really see a huge sum of traffic coming to your website. This is why a lot of marketers like to outsource their article writing to someone else, because the work involved can be tedious. And when you think about it, outsourcing is a form of paid advertising also!
You will need to step your game up and put out 1-5 articles per day. This caps you out to around 150 articles per month. Guess what? I was watching TV one day about the University of Phoenix Online, and they said that they have over 250,000 articles on their website.
Who do you know who has 250,000 articles on their website? No wonder why they get so much exposure online. Now they do paid advertising too, but I'm willing to bet that the 250,000 articles greatly reduce the acquisition cost of getting a new customer for them. Do you understand where I'm coming from?
Article marketing is good, and it's good to promote your articles all over the place. You can't go wrong with it... just find some good places to promote your articles, and you could have a steady stream of positive results coming to your website.
