Get Traffic Using Article Marketing

I decided to give free marketing a test run. The idea... can you effectively promote your business using completely free strategies. My goal is to present to the reader an on-going list of activities that I currently use to effectively promote blogs and websites (that are completely free).
One of my goals is to post two blog articles per day. This particular article will describe the exact strategy that I will be using to promote my blog page using article marketing.
As I have mentioned, I am concentrating on free marketing strategies. Keep in mind, article posts can be about anything. Personally, I find it easier to develop a general topic to write about. This way, you can break the topic down in to several parts, and it then gives you a wealth of smaller topics to write about. For example, instead of writing one blog post about "baseball strategy," I would instead break that topic into several smaller posts (baseball hitting, bunting, pitching, base running, etc... ). This helps keep the ideas fresh and gives you great content to write about.
Let's talk about the software tools that will be needed for a free ...
... marketing strategy. I use the Google Keyword Tool to develop some specific keywords to use in my articles. I try to avoid the highly competitive words. I like to use the "long tail" approach. That is, instead of using a keyword like "marketing," I will use a phrase like "marketing ideas for flower shops." Using phrases gives you a better opportunity to get a higher ranking in Google.
For social media exposure, I use Onlywire. This is a paid service. However, you can sign-up for a free trial and get the same service as a paid member. For each article, Onlywire will send out your article's information to several different social media websites.
You will also need to "ping" each article. I use a service called "Pingler." A ping service notifies search engines that an update has been made on your blog. This will help can additional exposure and assist with higher page rankings. I plan on "pinging" each article every three days.
Steps To Take In Marketing your Articles...
OK, so now we have the software tools in place, and we're ready to proceed. You can search the internet and find all kinds of article marketing software programs that will blast your articles out to 100's of directories, all with the touch of a button. However, in my opinion, they are all junk. I have reviewed several of the free article submitter programs, and my personal conclusion is: they are just not worth the time. So right, wrong or indifferent, here is the strategy that I am using for the 90 day free marketing challenge:
Step 1: After posting each article - use Pingler to submit the article link.
Step 2: Submit your article to Onlywire. With their free trial, Onlywire will allow you 300 social site submissions. For example, if you submit one article to 10 different social media sites, that would count as 10 submissions. Since this challenge covers a 90 day period, I will only be submitting each article to 1-3 social sites. With Onlywire you can tie in your article with your Youtube videos. It's a great strategy to promote both types of advertising. In fact, the strategy of combining article marketing with video marketing is a great way to can extra exposure. I have done quite a bit of research about article directories. There is no question that EzineArticles is the best.

I think that is about it for the steps with article marketing. I will be writing additional material, diving in to the software programs that I use, and how to streamline this activity to save time. In order to really explode your online business, try to submit 4 quality articles per day. Make sure you link your website in the author's bio section.
