Many people want to get rid of their contacts and eyeglasses, but they feel threat at the thought of having a procedure to be performed on the eyes. But now Lasik surgery in Delhi will help you to overcome this fear since; this surgery is one of the safest and most effective eye treatments with fine tuned surgical skill and time tested technology and for this surgery Narang Eye Institute is a perfect place for you in Delhi.
In Lasik surgery, a laser beam is used to modify the shape of the cornea to correct your vision. Your vision is totally depends on light. Eyes are like balls such that they receive light rays on the front side and refract them to focus on the retina. This function is very similar to the traditional camera functioning. So the object from which the rays have been reflected to our eyes makes a little image on retina. A large nerve called optic nerve transfers this image information to our brain and at last, our brain understands and interprets that image to us.
And when the light rays are not refracted perfectly due to some defect in cornea, the image of an object is not formed perfectly. Due to which optic nerve will not be able to send the image information correctly and then, brain interprets it wrong. That is why; Lasik surgery in Delhi is here to solve this issue.
The full form of LASIK is Laser-Assisted-In-Situ-Keratomileusis and the laser is a kind of beam of the light that we create for a specific purpose and can be within our vision range, ultraviolet or infrared. This surgery uses excimer lasers i.e. ultraviolet beams. The only principle of this surgery is to correct the vision of those people who are very long-sighted or very short-sighted.
Before this surgery, you will need a complete examination of your eyes. Your refractive surgeon may take an eye exam. If you fulfil the eligibility of this surgery, then you will have to stop wearing the lenses for a while before the surgery because your cornea should be in its natural shape at the day of the surgery. During this outpatient surgical procedure, the eyes are moistened and a soft ring is placed to avoid the movement of eyes and cornea. A special device cuts a flap of a thin corneal tissue and this flat is lifted out smoothly.
Then, the laser is used to reshape the underlying tissues of cornea and the surgeon replaces the flap which quickly sticks to the cornea. No stitches are there. A shield made from either perforated metal or a clear plastic is placed over the flap to protect it. After surgery, you should avoid swimming, driving and hot tubs for two weeks and everything will be normal after few days.
