The world of sports is an ever-changing one and sports products and gear that are launched are ever-changing as well. Every sport has different requirements in terms of the gear that is used and sports products companies go all-out to meet that demand. Comfortable clothing is an important part of every sport and a lot of research goes into their manufacture. Under Armour is not just one piece of clothing, it is a brand that manufactures athletic apparel and has taken the sports market by storm. The company has designed a specialized shirt that is worn by athletes in almost every sport.
This is essentially a compression shirt that keeps the sportsperson’s body and muscles warm and aids performance as well. Sweat is always a major concern with athletes especially when protective padding is required. After extensive research the company developed the “moisture wicking” technology. Within a short period of time the Under Armour brand became a rage. The phrase that the company uses is for the polyester material that removes perspiration from the skin. Traditionally, sports clothing used to be made of cotton and it soaked and retained sweat. There was a time when cotton was considered to be the ideal material for sportswear.
This was because it was considered to be breathable. Though that may be true, this also meant that the sweat hindered the wearer from cooling off properly and the garment also became heavier. The Under Armor product is form-fitting, lighter and comfortable. What is most important is that the wearer’s body stays cool when the weather is hot. Demand for the compression shirt grew and Under Armour automatically extended its product catalogue and started offering various kinds of athletic clothing that targeted athletes who lived in cold weather. This clothing provides warmth and also wicks away the moisture.
The clothing that is used in cold weather is made of polyester that is interwoven with micro-fleece. This traps the athlete’s body heat but wicks away sweat. This idea was taken a step further by the company and they introduced products that could be worn at various temperatures. Eventually the moisture wicking technology was used in the manufacture of sweatbands and footwear, sports gloves, underwear and various accessories. All these products were manufactured using the moisture wicking technology. The compression shirt is extremely popular and its breathability is one of its biggest selling points. Apart from the fact that it is breathable, it also helps in reducing body and muscle fatigue.
This shirt helps in keeping the body warmer than the surrounding temperature and thus prevents injury to muscles and joints. Today similar products are manufactured by various different companies but the original Under Armour brand is probably the most famous one. All these products are available at physical as well as online stores and the entire range of goods is available. You can browse via category, and there are detailed size listings. These products can be ordered online and they will also be delivered to your doorstep.
