Use Lighting And Chandeliers For The Attraction Quotient
Total Articles: 7959
Lighting is an element of interior design that is as important as furniture and flooring. No matter how attractive the rest of the décor be, if the lighting and chandeliers don’t complement it, the room will not look as attractive as it otherwise would. Lighting lends effect and drama to a room and enhances the beauty of the furniture you have picked with so much care. There are a wide range of lighting fixtures that can be used with great effect to enhance the look of a room. There are some basic rules when it comes to lighting. There will always be some areas in your home that will need to be well lit and bright.
Areas such as a kitchen or a study are spaces where a lot of work is carried out and need to have a sufficient amount of light. You always need bright spaces for tasks such as cooking and reading. Alternatively you can also use directional lighting in these spaces. Standard floor lamps can be placed strategically at different spots in the home for that additional light you need. Even if a room is well lit and has an adequate amount of recessed lighting or task lighting, you might still find that some corners of the room are a little dark. This is where standard floor lamps can be used to great effect.
Give enough of thought to the lighting and chandeliers that you are going to use in your home. Chandeliers, by themselves are very beautiful and majestic-looking but they do not look good in every room. Also, the style of the chandeliers, their height and their diameter are all factors that matter a lot. If you have a very large living room or a bedroom, a large chandelier with many hanging pieces will definitely add beauty to the room. On the other hand, if you fix a piece such as this in a room that is considerably smaller, it will only overpower the room.
Instead of adding to the look, it will take away attention from any furniture or art that you have there. A well-balanced look is always preferred over an ostentatious one. When it comes to interior deigning, being loud is not always good. Simple interiors are very often the most beautiful ones. Every element of the design should blend into the next and create a cohesive whole. You can always add some pieces that are contrastingly different either ns style or color. But those should be few and far between. Ensure that the light fittings that you are using are simple.
If you have a very contemporary-looking room, use stainless steel or nickel chandeliers. These will have modern styling and will match the furniture and the art in your room. All of it should have very little detailing and the clean lines are what you should be looking for. If you are looking for opulence, as in a period-designed room, pick a crystal chandelier. It will add a royal touch to the room and look elegant as well. Interestingly, for tropical-design living rooms or sun rooms, you can pick bamboo or rattan chandeliers. The lamps that are going to be placed in the room can be of the same material.
