Keoladeo National Park
The Keoladeo National Park is situated in Bharatpur and is also known as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. It was formerly famous by the name of Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and is just 55 km from the city of Agra. An ancient temple of a Hindu God “Lord Shiva” is located at the center of the park and the name Keolodev has been derived from this. The Keoladeo National Park was declared as the World Heritage Site. Resident as well as migratory birds dwells in this sanctuary. Birds from faraway countries like Siberia, Europe, China and Tibet migrates in winters for hibernation and hence the sanctuary have some of the richest birds in the world. People travel from far to see the beautiful and rare Siberian cranes. There is almost a total of 375 species of beautiful birds out of which 132 of them breed inside the national park. Every year new birds fly in and are added to the list. There are ITDC Bharatpur Forest Lodge and restaurant which are open to outsiders.
Ranthambhore National Park, being one of the largest national parks in northern India is situated in Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan. It is 110 km north east of Kota and 130 km from the city of Jaipur.
Ranthambore was a place which became a national park in 1980 and its deciduous forests were once a part of the dense and the magnificent jungles of central India. Ranthambore was one of the famous hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur. It is spread over an area of 1,334 sq km along with its nearby sanctuaries, which are, the Mansingh Sanctuary and the Kaila Devi Sanctuary. As we are aware that Ranthambore wildlife sanctuary is famous for its tigers, one gets an opportunity to see the King of the jungle in his natural habitat. You also have a chance to see this diurnal tigers taking care of his young children in the day light. The wildlife lovers are often attracted and glued to this park. The wildlife photographers get a great opportunity to live their passion clicking the royal predator and other animals, birds and flora and fauna of this dry deciduous land of jungle. One can also see the marsh crocs reptiles. Safe and well maintained vehicle are used for Safari. A twenty-seater Canter and a six-seater Jeep are deployed for taking a tour in the midst of the jungle, enabling you to enjoy a breathtaking adventure.
Sariska Tiger Reserve
It is an Indian national park situated beautifully sin the lap of Aravali hills in Alwar district of Rajasthan.
It is only 200 kms from Delhi and 107 kms from Jaipur. Wild tigers are seen in abundance in this typical dry deciduous forest of the national park. Other animals which inhabit this reserve are - Leopard, Jungle Cat, Caracal, Striped Hyena, Golden Jackal, Chital, Sambhar, Blue Bull, Chinkara, Four Horned antelope, Wild Boar, Hare Langur and many birds and reptiles and many more. There is also a famous and an ancient temple of God Hanuman inside the tiger reserve. Tourist can enjoy their safari trips in open gypsies. A private vehicle is not allowed to enter the premises of the park for the safety and security of the animals.
