For example, technology has not only improved the way students are learning, but it has also enhanced the way processing results is done. Gone are the days when manual correcting of papers is done. Teachers are now able to take advantage of software applications used to scan student assessments.

How does this technology work? First, the teacher prepares the exam. Then, the answer key is being fed to the equipment used for scanning. When the students finish taking the exam, the papers are then entered into the scanning machine. The equipment, on the other hand, compares the answers in the sheet to the previously entered data. This is where the entire correcting process used to scan student assessments comes in. There are a lot of advantages to this type of technology. For one, the time used to check papers manually is being cut short. Teachers are also shielded from potential disputes brought about by incorrect checking.

It may be that the teacher has inputted the wrong answers to the given questions. Other factors are also considered. Many institutions nowadays are taking refuge to this type of technology.

It can be said that this technology is part of the campaign of most institutions to manage SMART goals? These goals are coined as Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. This technology used by many institutions is surely a good complement to these goals. This is because the output is quite specific and measurable. With the use of this technology in automatic correcting of papers, schools and teachers can now use majority of their time to more worthwhile endeavors.
