Keyword Research without a Staff Leasing Company

If you choose to do keyword research in-house, bear in mind that the process isn’t as simple as you might think. Remember as well that choosing keywords isn’t just about earning a high search ranking to get a lot of site visitors, but more about ranking such that you get the right kind of visitors. You have to learn to gauge a keyword’s worth to your web pages. For example, if you run a boutique, would the key phrase “ladies’ wear” be more valuable than “women’s dresses” or is it the other way around?

There are, of course, tools that allow you to find popular keywords. However, these tools don’t really tell you how much value each keyword has in terms of bringing useful traffic to your site. Understanding the value of a keyword requires an understanding of your own website, drawing up some hypotheses, and testing. It further requires you to repeatedly go through the hypotheses-testing process. When done right, keyword research can help you predict changes in consumer demand, respond to changes in market conditions, and deliver what your target market actively seeks in terms of content, products, and services.

Taking all of the above into consideration, you should take on the task of researching keywords only if you’re willing to devote the necessary time and effort into it. At the very least, you should have enough resources to hire a professional team if you choose to handle the task in-house. After all, keyword research isn’t a one-time process. It is something you need to keep working on for as long as you’re in business. If you feel that this task is too complicated for you to spend time on and your budget can’t cover hiring an additional in-house team, then it may indeed be a good idea to start looking for a reputable staff leasing company.
