First, what does Memorial Day mean to me and what does it have to do with my internet company? And why "Memorial" day?
Memorial Day, originally known as Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who've died in our nation's service. Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on five May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander from the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on 30 May 1868, when flowers had been placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. The very first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873. By 1890 it was recognized by all the northern states. Numerous people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. As I write these thoughts these days...Memorial Day...I keep in mind my father and mother and their lives of service to ensure that their kids, their neighbors, their neighborhood and their country could be a little better if they so preferred. My father worked happily for 40 years inside a factory and then worked to make sure that we had what we needed. My mom worked as well, initial as a mother and after that a 40 hour/week job to ensure that we could get a college education (which she could't get). Neither had the benefit from the web, online marketing or on-line multilevel marketing possibilities but they produced it their mission to prepare their 4 kids to excel in any business or home based company. They served us and others rather than serving themselves.

These days, in looking at on-line possibilities and also the challenges, I'm saddened that so many have selected to become served rather than to help and serve others in need. I realize why 97% of those connected to the internet and to an web business are failing simply because they're not serving. I think inside a greater power that pushes us to want to achieve achievement. I think that God desires us to be Great!
