Steven Kaller Makes Prom Proposal Interesting

When it comes to high school prom, every guy can remember the nervousness that comes along with asking your date to the dance. How should I ask her? Will she say yes? What will people say if she rejects me? Well one Wisconsin student decided to take the traditional proposal and put a creative spin on it.

Green Bay native Steven Kaller has been making news with his unique way of asking his high school crush to prom. Donning a top hat and 3 piece suit, the 17 year old waltzed into the cafeteria at Green Bay High and sung a musical number to his crush that came with custom tailored lyrics that had to do with the end of the year dance. Reminiscent of an old Sinatra number, Kaller belted the song out in front of the entire school, receiving a standing ovation from his fellow classmates.

When asked about where he got the idea from, Steven Kaller said he had watched a bunch of YouTube videos where guys had asked their dates to prom in a unique way. ...
... In one video a boy comes to the school courtyard wearing short gold shorts with the question “Prom?” written on the backside. In another instance a boy barges into a class and interrupts the lesson with flowers to pop the question to his crush.

The good news? The stunt worked wonderfully, as the song’s recipient Jennifer Cornwall blushed as she told him yes. Says Jennifer:
“I saw him come in and thought was the heck is he doing? Then as he locked eyes on me and started moving closer and closer I realized what was going to happen.”

Although Jennifer admitted that Steven Kaller wasn’t the best singer, she was still taken aback by the creative gesture. After all, it beats a sweaty teenager with a cracking voice nervously asking you to prom at your locker.
