There are instances when one has to be keep out the unwanted noise. These situations might arise when one works with sounds and outside noise or any other kind of sound should not be allowed to enter the premises, or even inside the room or chamber in any way. This is especially true in case of studios etc. They want to create and record a particular kind of soundtrack or music, or obviously they will not want the noise from the car honking intruding from the road! In such cases, acoustic insulation is the best option to go for.

This is almost the same as sound proofing, and items like acoustic foam etc are used to keep the noise out. The panels of the room like ceiling, floor, door and windows are wrapped in the foam in such a way that all cracks are closed and noise cannot come in. Moreover, any resonance inside the room, that might be created when people walk or move around, is also absorbed by the foam. Any room is bound to have some residual sound and the more the people, the more the noise, however quiet they might yet want to be.

Reverberation, echo and background ...
... noises are things that will just always happen. The acoustic foam itself is very lightweight and made from polyester like material. Apart from studios, those who are meticulous about the home theaters or auditoriums also use them for greater sound clarity. Again large empty spaces like churches and synagogues and other places having high ceilings also use them to cut off the echo.

So it can be said that with the help of good acoustic insulation, one can easily create a soundproof atmosphere and then it is possible to work with any kind of sound, without the intrusion of anything else.
