Controlling the largest percentage of shares in the mobile gaming market which constitutes more than $10 billion has enabled the iPod Touch and the iPhone to defeat console games on PCs from the perspective of the current market share. It is also to be remembered that there was a downturn in the economy during the period 2010 to 2012 that resulted in an increasing number of console gaming users turn to iOS gaming apps as the latter were available at cheaper rates.
