There are two major types of heat pumps available these days: ground source heat pump and Air source heat pump.

A Ground source Heat pump is much more expensive than the aired ones. Electrical heating devices can be installed at half the cost. But still ground sourced pumps are first preference for most of the office and home owners. Why? It is because these devices will save much of monetary investment at a later stage. Yes, purchase and installation cost is quite higher for ground sourced heating devices but at the same time, they require minimal maintenance. They are sturdy structures and offer the best room heating options while focusing on economical energy wastage.

Installation may take time. And more importantly, it requires professional interference to carry out the task. It is highly recommended. Once installed, there will not be much of investment to worry about. Ground source heat pumps normally last for near about 50 years! And 99% of these pumps are energy efficient products, meaning that minimal amount of electricity ...

A recent survey states that nearly 40,000 such pumps are installed every year in the UK. They are more efficient source of heating mainly because of the natural resources from earth used in producing heat. They are effective insulators, often used for cooling and warming of water. Even though temperature changes drastically with every season, beneath the ground surface it remains the same. As a result, additional effort on heating or cooling is not required.

These days, there are several types of ground heat pumps available. They are selected according to purpose of usage. Some of the common variants include open loop, close loop, and energy piles. There are several different types of ground source heat pumps to choose from depending on what you are using them for. They are called energy piles, open loop and closed loop systems.
