The importance of having the car fitted with the right kind of tyre can never be overemphasized. Proper Car tyres not only make the ride smoother, faster and safer, but they also increase the longevity of the car. To understand why, one must first have a close look at them. They are mostly made out of synthetic rubber and are fitted around the rim of the wheel. This allows the wheels not only to roll faster, but in case of sudden jerks, they absorb the shocks and provide the car with the adequate cushion. This not only makes the ride more comfortable for the riders, but it also enhances the life of the vehicle. The treads on the car tyres too are an important factor. They create the just traction on the road and thus prevent the car from skidding. Thus proper car tyres make the journey safer too.

While purchasing car tyres, it is important to have close look into the treads. Basically they are thick rubber, or rubber/composite compound added on the tyre surface. They are generally formulated to provide an appropriate level of traction without wearing away ...
... too quickly. To function properly, treads are generally characterized by geometrical shapes such as grooves, lug, voids, sipes and each of them has a distinct part to play in the over all function of the wheel. Therefore, one should have his car serviced regularly to check the condition of these treads.

However, it is not only the condition of the treads, which requires regular check up. One must regularly go for Car Service to have the over all condition of the car checked. Another important factor to note is that, different types of tyres have been designed to meet different road conditions. For example, high performance tyres have small void ratios, but are generally made out of softer rubbers while mud and snow tyres have higher void ratios to channel away rain and mud. It does not need to be said that specialized tyres always work better than general all weather tyres. Reliable car service centers should be able to provide the correct information; therefore, it is always better to consult them before opting for new car tyres.
