Are you planning to open a bar? It is an exciting idea. However, there are challenges all along the way. If one is thinking on those lines it is just not about proper funding. One will need government permission for operating a bar. In technical terms, this permission is referred as a Bar licence. However, this is a varied subject as there may be objections if any particular bar is selling intoxicated alcohol. The first area where one needs to check is that what the percentage of sales from alcohol is. If it is less than 50% one can look at ways of obtaining a tavern license. However, if one is running a bar the one and most important license that must be in possession is an Alcohol Licence. This is a license, which allows the holder to sell alcohol products. The license for starting an alcohol business is probably the toughest one to obtain. However, if one is really thinking on these lines one can look up to possessing a personal license. This license is a bit different from the normal license needed for starting alcohol business. The personal license is given to an individual and is not tied with any premises. Hence, if a premise is not suitable the owner can look up to ways of trying to sell alcohol from a different premise. However, care must be taken to see that the new premise does have a premises license so that alcohol can be sold from there. The license is generally given for a period of ten years. It can be renewed if there is proper conduct on the part of the owner.
