Do you know, around 16,204 messages are sent in a minute in the United States? Yeah, it’s not only us; many in the country are like us who sit texting their friends. Imagine if it is 16,204 messages a minute then what about a day? And what about a month? Or Year? It’s nothing but more than 85 billion in a year. That’s around 7 billion in a month. And about SMS sent in the day, try calculating it and get amazed. It’s nothing but dividing 7 billion by 30 days. If you are anything like me, you will surely get the help of a calculator and finally you will find the answer shocking.

You know what, these are reports from one carrier. It goes to around 2.5 trillion per year when the matter comes to 5 carriers. Of course it is a reward for the teenagers like us. Imagine, her 14,000 text messages reaped the cash prize of $50,000. She was one amongst the 20 other finalists from many countries for the two day challenge. It was just 8 months after she got her first cell phone that she out texted a 14 year boy Morgan Dynda from Savannah, GA in the final round. It was just a difference in seconds that made Moore win the tiebreaking text of three lengthy phrases that were flawless with required abbreviations, capitalization and punctuations scoring Best two out of three.

Still do you think Texting to be a waste of time? If that is the case, then do you know Melissa Thompson? She is a 27 year woman from Great Britain who is said to be the world’s fastest texter. The SWYPE Key pad is something really interesting indeed. I asked my father to get me one, while he gave a stare that implied “Get a good score in subjects, Later I will get you SWYPE!” Do you still consider texting as a waste of time? Then I am sure that you are lazy enough to type a message that you give lame reasons stating it’s a waste of time. If not you may not have interesting friends to text you often. But in my case, my mom started saying that I had become addicted to texting, since I used to type 7 page long messages in just 2 minutes. Yes, I agree, like many teenagers, I hate talking on the phone and text every minute even in the middle of my dinner that counts for a total of nearly 230 – 250 messages a day with my Centurylink Phone Service.
