There are a lot of myths about how acupuncture started. However, the following story is believed to be the truth on how it all started.

There was a man who’s working on a field in China. Due to the physical exertion his work entails, he realized that after work, his back was aching so badly that he could not even think of going to work the next day. When he reached home, he sat on a rock with some sort of pointy object on it. When he finally lay down, the pointed object pressed on his back and all of a sudden, the pain was gone.

The following week, his friend was in a similar situation. He encouraged him to try his rock at home; as soon as his friend pressed his back on the rock, the pain was relieved.
