The Canadian Manufacturer - RIM has officially announced and released the next generation mobile platform, BlackBerry 7, which looks a full fledge pack of all exciting new features.
RIM has launched this platform with Blackberry company's next generation smart phones Bold 9900/9930 and will feature on all other new smart phones to be launched in the upcoming months. This software is originally an upgrade to BB OS6 and was designated as version 6.1 but gradually RIM bashed the version number to 7 due to some real extensive changes.
RIM is pointing more on improved internet browser with full HTML5 elements support like video chat, etc and faster JavaScript performance. It has introduced the new feature called Blackberry Balance by which personal data can be separated from corporate information on the device. This newly released version will not affect vastly to blackberry application development market as RIM has confirmed that this version will not be coming to the devices of blackberry already in the market. Compared to the previous versions, it resembles a lot in terms of looks and functionalities. Because of this, RIM continuously keeps on adding new features and extra specifications with new versions to compete with Android, iPhone and others in a cut-throat competition.
Blackberry has already released two handsets supporting this next generation browser which are significantly faster and it is all set to launch five more devices of which two are CDMA versions and three are GSM versions.
