In this portable universe we live in, parrot owners are happy that there exists a range of bird stands that are portable too, enabling them to easily and seamlessly move around with their parrot as they work or play. Birds get to avoid the boredom of being in one place only, allowing for greater socialization. In addition, owners who ‘socialize' their parrots by holding them, letting them out on bird stands, and moving them about report fewer parrot behavior problems such as biting and screaming.

Equally important is ensuring the bird stands are comfortable for all different sizes of parrots. Some bird stands have toy hangers, and others are simply ‘tee'-shaped. Smaller portable bird stands are a breeze to carry from room to room as you work. Bird stands for larger birds are great to put on a table and are perfect for trips.

It's important that your parrot is comfortable on its bird stand. The bird's feet should rest on the top half of the bird perch as opposed to wrapping completely around it. And it is up to you to decide the function you wish the bird stand to serve. Will you be using it ...
... for training purposes, or for socializing? Do you plan to take your portable bird stand on vacation? Is your bird stand easy to wash? Answers to these questions will help you decide which bird stand is best for you.

One internet site that carries a huge selection of bird stands is Chirp n Squawk Bird Supplies, found online at www.birdsupplies.com/Bird-Stands-Parrot-Stand-Bird-Gyms-s/28.htm. Chirp n Squawk's range of bird stands, toys, food, supplies and information is outstanding, and offers superb value-for-money.

An excellent choice for small and medium parrots is the range of Parrot Tower Table Top bird stands. Parrot Towers come in several different sizes and styles, and include nifty accessories to maximize the bird stand's usefulness. Parrot Tower bird stands are made from easy-to-clean BASF plastic for durability. The elevated Parrot Tower bird stand has casters that provide ease of use around the house, and rubber feet that won't scuff the furniture.

And just for fun, you can actually redesign your bird stand every day, because the Parrot Towers bird stands have interchangeable perches. The lower perches can rotate to make this a Tee-style bird stand, suitable for training. Just take out the food bowls and bird toys to reduce distractions and you can keep your bird's attention during training sessions.

Much more information and product selection can be had at Chirp n Squawk Bird Supplies. You will learn, for instance, that many parrot enthusiasts have two different portable bird stands, one for bird training and the other to help your parrot socialize, with toys and climbing perches attached. The advantage of a dedicated stand for training is that it sends a signal to your parrot that playtime is over.
