The Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the most happening treks in Nepal situated at the south of the great Annapurna. The trek starts from Pokhara, following through the exciting Modi Khola gorge and into the slopes of the grand yet gentle mountains surrounded by the abrupt slopes sanctuary. The trek proceeds through the exotic bamboo and rhododendron forests and passes between the Machhapuchhare and Himchuli which oversees the entrance to the sanctuary and arrive at the high glacial basin, the site of the south face of Annapurna base camp. The massive Annapurna mountain with Himchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Gangapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchare are the major peaks of the western region that are near set in a circle, each 10 miles apart and whose center is an amphitheatrical glacier covered cavern.
