A number of programs pop-up on the screen when you switch on your Mac system. The startup programs look scattered on the screen and don’t seem to please you. How will you get rid of these startup programs your MacOS? Well, there are some methods that can help you to remove or manage the startup programs in the system. Not only the startup programs look scattered on the screen, but it also increases the time to load the system.

It is really irritating to wait for the system to be turned on completely. These programs slow down the starting process time results in the system to take more time to start. So to get rid of the situation, managing or removing the startup program on macOS would be better to save the time rather than keep on waiting for the system to start working.

Here is how to manage startup programs on MacOS

Managing app through System Preferences

1. Click the Apple icon and open the menu list.
2. Now click the System Preferences from the menu.
3. Find and click Users & Groups option.
4. Click the Login Items tab.
5. A list of applications that open during startup time will appear in the Login Items tab.
6. Select and uncheck the applications from the list.
7. In this way, you can remove the apps and manage the startup programs on MacOS.

Do not Rush to Delete Everything

There are two important folders which should not be deleted. It would be better to know before deleting items from the folders blindly.

1. /System/Library/LaunchDaemons
2. /System/Library/LaunchAgents

The files and programs stored in these two folders are essential items for the system, hence you should not approach either of the two folders.

The alternate method to delete the Startup items.
1. Open System Folder and go to Library.
2. You will see a folder named as Start Up Items.
3. The folder has the programs which appear on startup.
4. Open the folder.
5. Delete the undesired application or program from the folder.

Remove Kernel Extensions
The kernel extensions load during the startup and you can locate it in the /System/Library/Extensions. The extensions provide some support during startup like processing audio and includes the backup peripherals. If you want to remove the third party Kernel Extensions, then the uninstaller is the best to approach which is already offered as a tool in the system. With the uninstaller tool, the third party kernel extensions can be removed without harming the system.

There are some other programs which might appear even after going through the methods mentioned. But these programs are not actually the startup items. But there is no need to worry about these programs because of these or not available in the newer operating system for Mac.
