Update USB Controller Drivers
Update your motherboard and USB driver to the latest version direct from the official manufacturer
Try to reset the BIOS.
Open the ‘Device Manager’ from the WinX menu.
Expand the entry marked as Universal Serial Bus Controller.
Right-click on all the USB related drivers.
Choose Update driver in the context menu.
With the use of Device Manager, you can also try updating all the other drivers on your computer system.

Check for Windows Updates
First, confirm that your computer system has all the latest updates installed by the Microsoft. And for this, you need to Check for Updates in the Settings app on Windows 10. Therefore, if you have any latest updates then update it, otherwise try using the next method given in this article.

Make Adjustments in the Power Settings
Firstly, search for ‘Power Options’ in the Cortana Search box.
Choose the suitable search result.
Alternatively, search for Control Panel in the Cortana Search Box.
Again, search for the Power Options. It is located in the top right portion of the Window.
Click on the suitable entry.
Click on the Change Plan Settings option for your selected power plan.
Then, click on the Change advanced power settings option.
Now, search for the USB Settings.
Click on USB Settings to expand it.
Now, enlarge USB selective suspend setting and then finally disable it.
Lastly, click on the Apply option.
And then, click on the OK tab for the changes to take effects.
Checking Hard Disk for Errors
Firstly, try to check your drive’s health in the Disk Management section.
Right-click on the ‘This PC/Computer’ icon, to open the Disk Management.
Click on Manage option.
Click on the Disk Management option. It is located on the left side of the panel.
Now, run the given command in CMD as well:
chkdsk /f
Finally, restart your computer system for the changes to take effect.
Note: If a message shows that all your partition healthy, then continue to go else; now it might be possible that you have some physical issues with your hard drive which you already installed in your computer system.
