Vacation is everyone’s right. It refreshes our mind and prepare us for the coming hectic schedule. At times, a short vacation is also needed in the middle of the busy schedule. But if you are living in an urban city, a short vacation means nothing. You would always need at least 3-4 days (that includes days of travelling as well) to enjoy a vacation. But what if you have an option of same day vacation? Delhi to Agra one day tour is a wonderful option for people who are looking for a quick getaway from the busy schedule.

Sometimes, it becomes a little difficult to cover the entire city when its just one day tour, but the following itinerary for Delhi to Agra One Day Tour might be helpful.

Once you arrive in the city, you can checkin in your hotel and leave for exploring the majestic mughal city, Agra. You can start off with the UNESCO world heritage sites- Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Remember, Taj Mahal is closed in Fridays. Taj Mahal sightseeing includes the monument, prayer room, museum and the garden. It would take around 90 minutes to two hours to enjoy this monument.

The next stop can be the nearest monument, Itmad-Ud-Daulah tomb. This tomb was built by a Mughal Queen Noor Jahan, wife of emperor Jahangir. This was built to keep the mortal remains of her father. The tomb is very similar to Taj Mahal and is situated on the banks of Yamuna river.

After visiting Itmad-Ud-Daulah tomb, you can head to visit one of the four ancient hindu temples of Agra, Mankamshwer Temple. After that, you can head to have an authentic Agra local food.

Following the lunch, a visit to Ram Bagh is a wonderful option. There is a reason to visit this garden during peak afternoon. This garden is built in a manner that it will be cool no matter when you visit the park. During hot afternoons, the breeze from the Yamuna River would cool the place. Taking a stroll in this garden is a relaxing activity.

Going a little far from the Ram Bagh, the next stop is Akbar Fort. This monument is famous for its pyramidal tomb. This place was known as the resting place of Emperor Akbar. Another fascinating thing about the fort is that, Akbar got 99 names of Allah engraved on the walls of the fort.

The evening is meant for beautifully lit up market places. Sadar bazaar is the most famous place to buy some spices, textiles, and general souvenirs.

Finally, the last stop is Agra Fort. This place should certainly be visited as the last stop since it looks beautiful in the evening. The fort was built by Emperor Akbar, and his love of red bricks is well evident. There is a light and sound show that takes places at 7 in the evening, every day. It is a heritage site with wonderful architectural beauty and interesting entertainment show.

Once done, you can find a warm, cozy restaurant to have your dinner and then leave for the next yet-to-be explored place!
