How Retained Recruiters Differ From Contingency Recruiters?

Recruitment in simple terms means conducting interviews to fill the empty positions in the firms and Recruiters are the professionals, who conduct this recruitment process. But most of them don’t have an idea of the type of recruiters. Nowadays, various Recruitment firms in Gurgaon are being established. Gurgaon nowadays has become an excellent job hub for various job seekers. The recruitment firms in Gurgaon have collaborated hands with various MNC's and big firms who require job aspirants for their companies. Let us introduce you to these two types of recruiters. Retained and Contingency recruiters.

Retained Recruiters

Retained Recruiters often charge the clients and then begins the research for a right candidate. They normally work on an exclusive basis or for a particular authenticated firm. These professionals work according to the clients. They spend a valuable time in carrying out the recruitment process. They maintain an agreement with the companies and then find an appropriate candidate for them. The way in which they conduct the recruitment is spontaneous. The firms generally prefer recruitment to be conducted through the retained recruiters when they are about to fill a senior position or when they are not available with any other option. Moreover, a retained assignment is highly expensive. The firms have to pay fifty percent of the first employee’s salary to these recruiters.

Contingency Recruiters

Contingency recruiters are the recruiters who don't charge any fee to the clients. They conduct free recruitment. This is among one of the most challenging recruitment carry out by the recruiters. The contingency recruiters have to compete with the internal HR department, direct applicants’ advertising and typically with one or more other recruitment companies. The recruiters have to pick up the best candidate and conduct the recruitment process faster than the other sources. They have to beat the internal recruiters too. Sometimes, it is difficult to fill the vacancy. The reason behind this is that there must be few qualified candidates out there. So, the chances of filling the vacancy decreases.

Difference in Conducting the Recruitment Process

Both the contingency and retained recruiters carry out the recruitment process in the most effective way. The difference is in their way of conducting the recruitment process. The retained recruiters take an ample of time and search an appropriate candidate for their firms. They work on an agreed methodology. They bring out the super candidates for the clients. The contingency recruiters conduct the recruitment at a faster pace. They emphasize to provide more candidates for the recruitment process. The retained search is usually a lengthy process and takes a lot of time.
