i)Gather all necessary documents for visa application:
Documents act like a backbone for a visa application as they support all the facts mentioned in the visa application. You must gather all necessary documents including your identity card, valid passport, birth certificate and valid English language test scores such as IELTS or TOFEL.
iiChoose appropriate visa type that meets your situation:
There are a large number of subclasses and paths to get permanent residency in Australia. Some paths start from provisional visas and end up with permanent residency while some categories directly provide applicant with Australian PR visa. However, each subclass or category has different requirements and fit to different situations and different applicants. Some of these visa categories are Business and skilled based while some are general like Partner visa subclass. Some subclass categories of Australian PR visas are:
• Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189)
• State Sponsored Visa (subclass 190)
• Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186)
• Partner Visa (subclass 801)
• Investor Visa (subclass 891)
• Parent Visa (subclass 183)
• Business Innovation and Investment Permanent Visa (subclass 888) etc.
iiiSelect your Occupation from SOL and Apply for point-based test:
Once you select a visa category that fits to your situation, you have to select the Occupation that matches your profession or skill set from a list provided by Australian Immigration Department, called SOL(Skill Occupation List). Once you select your occupation from SOL, you need to go for Point-Based Test by applying for EOI (Expression of Interest). This test is online assessment that checks different aspects of an applicant’s life, business, and status and give points or marks to applicant according to these aspects. These points are then summed up and decision is made if you met qualifying or eligible score (Qualifying or minimum score is 60 points).
ivGet visa:
Once you pass your point-based assessment with good score, you are to apply for the PR visa from your country of origin at Australian High Commission.
