Total Articles: 1
Whether you are beginner who has just completed their diploma in graphic design in Delhi and looking to jump start their first order or you are a veteran looking for someone, these common mistakes can easily ambush any designer and cause enough of threat. So, have a look at these important mistakes to keep an eye on.
Not getting instructions properly
Like in other things, communication gap between the client and designer can cost a dime. It is important for a client to deliver clear and detailed instructions and designer should ensure that they understand the instructions clearly, no matter how many queries they have to send to the client.
Thinking under in the box
Though you may not want to think out of the box, it doesn’t mean you should stay in the ruts and sticking to what is common. You should be creative to become very successful. Go for the weird and crazy, experiment, try things out, and play along. You cannot achieve success in everything, but you won’t if you don’t try.
Too many fonts
It is cool to play with fonts. But if someone reads through the text in which font changes ten times, it will be annoying and irritating. As a general rule, don’t exceed 3 fonts in any specific layout.
Over-stuffing the design
Just because you are free to do something to your design, it doesn’t mean yoaphicu must. Simplicity has its own benefits. Be aware of what is trending on Photoshop filters. Don’t overdesign anything which can cause some serious issues. The more stuff you add, the harder the viewer will be able to think and extract info. A design should breathe and flourish it itself. It is not going to be bad about having blank space. It’s even better than filling up each square inch of space with something.
Over Promise and not delivering well
Above all other mistakes covered so far, it is one of the most damaging and severe mistakes. You will rarely find a job which is quick. When it comes to discuss expectations and deadlines, be sure not to promise them something crazy then fail to deliver. Instead, tell them you need some more time to make it work.
Kerning the fonts
Kerning is the process of adjusting space between letters, either automatically or manually in typography. In some situations, it can make words more pleasing and legible to your eyes. But overdoing it or not doing properly can cause misinterpretations to destroying the cohesiveness of the design.
Using stock images
There is nothing wrong in using stock images. But overdoing it can make your project look cheap and unprofessional. People can quickly recognize them. Imagine a packaging design with stock image. A consumer will definitely not buy them as they may think that quality may not be good.
Apart from spelling, you should also consider choosing a project with proper grammar. Any punctuation error or misused comma may cause a problem. There are many people who will notice a small slip and disregard the whole project.
