In India, running or being in charge of a public gaming house or a “Casino” is prohibited according to the Gambling Laws of the Public Gambling Act of 1867. Talking about the penalty for not obeying this law is a fine of Rs. 200 or imprisonment of up to 3 months.

Online gambling is in its starting point in India and it would surely take some time for online casinos to come into complete existence. There is a total number of 10 casinos in Goa, in which 6 are land-based and four are floating casinos operated on the Mandovi River namely; CasinoDeltin Royale, Casino DeltinJack, Casino Pride and Casino Pride 2.

• Daman & Diu holds the largest casino all across the country namely an onshore casino situated in Daman.

• SIKKIM is having two casinos namely Casino Sikkim and Casino Mahjong.
