Total Articles: 218
Founded in the early 20th century, Hurghada is a coastal city in Egypt’s Red Sea Governorate. Before its transformation into a sought-after tourist destination in the country, the city was a tiny fishing village. Many of the European tourists prefer visiting Hurghada for their regular holidays, especially during the winters. This is also one of those destinations where the resorts and hotels provide excellent facilities for scuba divers, kite-surfers, yachtsmen, windsurfers, and snorkelers. The calm and clear waters of the Red Sea also make for ideal conditions to enjoy these activities.
From the month of October to February, the city experiences its winter season with a warm and pleasant weather during daytime and the temperatures dipping considerably at night. If you wish to enjoy cheap holidays to Hurghada, it is advisable to visit in November when there are lesser crowds of tourists and greater opportunities to get some good deals on hotel stays. The summer months from May to August are characterised by a hot climate with lesser humidity. Shoulder months of September, March, and April can be the ideal times to visit Hurghada if you wish to enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or snorkelling.
You’ll find long stretches of white sands while exploring the Giftun Islands during your Hurghada holidays. While on the island, you can unwind on its gorgeous sands and soak up the warm rays of the sun.
Activities like snorkelling and scuba-diving would give you ample opportunities to access the coral reefs and different species of fish in the waters that surround these islands. The Hurghada Marina is yet another fascinating place worth visiting during your time spent in the city. This promenade provides delightful views of sunset and yachts bobbing on the waters nearby. You can enjoy these sights from any of the cafes or restaurants located along the marina.
A visit to the Straits of Gubal located between the Sinai Peninsula’s western shore and the Red Sea coast would allow you to go diving into the narrow strip of water and explore a popular wreck called The Thistlegorm. It is the wreck of a cargo ship that was used in the Second World War. It was first discovered in the 1950s by a French diver called Jacques Cousteau. You’ll also get to visit some enchanting beaches during your Hurghada holidays. The best among them are located in the main town area called Sigala.
If you don’t like to get into the water in order to explore the fantastic marine life that thrives in the depths of the Red Sea, book a trip in the Sindbad Submarine. This is the only tourist submarine that operates in the Red Sea closer to the shores of this city. It helps passengers to get a glimpse of various kinds of aquatic beings that reside in the depths by taking them 22 metres under the sea. The desert located near Hurghada can be a great place to enjoy some adventurous activities, such as quad biking tours, dune buggy trips and jeep expeditions.
